Brief Narrative

Greenwatch Initiative is a non-government organization formed in 2001 and registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) Abuja in 2005 under the Companies and Allied Matters Act.1 1990. The organization is focused on improving the quality of life of the poor and vulnerable people through environmental sustainability, poverty alleviation and health information/service programs. 

Greenwatch is made up of a Board of Trustees and Management Team. The Board of Trustees has 7 members comprising 4 males and 3 females. The Board also has 2 sub committees on project monitoring and evaluation as well as finance and audit that work with the management team to ensure programs and budget targets are maintained.

To promote environmental security, healthy living and good governance through capacity building, advocacy, research, community mobilization and services for the benefit of the poor and vulnerable people.

  • To undertake environmental management programs for sustainable development.
  • To promote health information and services for the benefit of vulnerable populations.
  • To provide services for improved water and sanitation condition in rural and urban communities.
  • To undertake research and education in environment, health and governance issues for societal development.
  • To promote transparency and accountability in governance for improved service delivery to the poor and vulnerable people.
  • To partner with any other organization with shared vision for the attainment of our set objectives.

Environmental Protection

Needs Assessment for Efficient Energy Cooking Sources, Solar Powered Boreholes and Solar Powered Irrigation Pumps

HIV/AIDS Prevention

ENCAP/USAID; Enhancing Nigerian Capacity for AIDS Prevention. Beneficiaries: MOSY, FOSY, Non brothel based FSWs, Transport Workers and OVC.

Project Monitoring & Evaluation

Project monitoring tools are in place to ensure proper tracking of project outputs.

Finance and Administration

Greenwatch operates a transparent accounting process to service programs and organizational activities.
